About Vasanthi Vadiveoo

Educational Background:

Vasanthi Vadiveoo graduated with an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Malaya in 2007 and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in June 2008.

Experience:

With over a decade of experience, Vasanthi Vadiveoo has developed extensive expertise in commercial transactions and general litigation, with a focus on contract law, including injunctions, specific performance, defamation, negligence, and other related disputes. She frequently represents financial institutions in a range of legal matters, including private debt securities (both conventional and Islamic), hire purchase, bankruptcy proceedings, debt recovery, receiverships, insolvencies, and restructuring.

Vasanthi has also earned recognition for her specialized work in employment law, offering a broad range of services in employer-employee relations, including disputes, dismissals, recruitment policies, and representation in the Industrial and High Courts. She provides comprehensive legal advice on employment issues, handling matters related to reorganizations, retrenchments, and domestic inquiries.

In the realm of personal injury law, she has led breakthrough strategies in handling injury claims, ranging from minor to catastrophic injuries and fatal accident cases. Vasanthi regularly represents insurers in both litigation and fraudulent claims matters, bringing her vast experience in negotiations and settlements across Peninsular Malaysia.

Additionally, Vasanthi is well-versed in handling both contentious and non-contentious probate and trust matters, dealing with contested Wills, inheritance disputes, and trustee conflicts. Her experience in family law encompasses annulments, divorce, child custody and support, spousal maintenance, and property division.

Vasanthi also represents a number of prominent corporations, including Hanson Group of Companies, Colourland, IRDA, Prima Harta Sdn Bhd, UEM Sunrise, Johorland, and Gates IT Solution Sdn Bhd, advising them on their extensive contract portfolios.

Career:

After being admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 2008, Vasanthi began her legal career at Messrs K. Sila Dass & Partners. In May 2010, she joined Syed Alwi, Ng & Co., and by 2014, she had risen to the position of Partner. Today, she leads the firm’s General & Civil Litigation Department, where she continues to deliver expert legal services across multiple areas of law.
